AAU criminal justice graduates successfully provide a variety of services at a supervisory or managerial level in positions in law enforcement, the legal systems, governmental agencies, insurance, safety, and security. AAU graduates also are qualified to pursue graduate level degrees (such as law school).
Program Objectives
This program prepares you for criminal justice positions in business, industry and non-profit organizations. The program provides the foundational background for students seeking to acquire a high-level of knowledge from a broad base of criminal justice concepts and skills to create solutions to contemporary problems in criminal justice. Students will acquire the critical and current knowledge and skills needed to integrate administration, laws, procedures of investigation and evidence and organizational law enforcement management. Upon successful completion of this program, you are eligible to enter graduate level degree programs.
- Analyze the external and internal influences on business institutions and practices
- Identify the structures in business organizations that can be managed for productivity
- Differentiate the roles and tasks of business leaders and professionals in business, industry and non-profit organizations
- Use technology and other resources to remain current in the student's chosen business field
- Make effective business decisions using appropriate analytical and critical thinking processes
- Identify and analyze legal and/or ethical issues that arise in business practices and institutions
- Demonstrate effective written communication skills in a business environment
- Enter a graduate level program without further academic preparation
Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice Program Description
