Web Design

Do you want to lean how to create online graphic images, designs, and copy layouts? As a student of AAU's Web Design Certificate program you'll learn the basics that will help you determine the size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy. You'll learn the proper methods for selecting type, layout, and introducing aesthetic design concepts and be able to build your own web project.

CIS105: Introduction to Computer Science

Credits: 3
Prerequisite: None

This course is a first look at the entire computer science discipline, covering basic computer concepts like binary logic, how computer hardware works, how programs are designed and written and advanced applications like artificial intelligence. It also provides an overview of the topics covered in the CIS major and introduces students to terminology and concepts they will see throughout their program.

ISY301: Web Page Design I

Credits: 3
Prerequisite: ISY101 or CIS105

This course introduces students to the design of Web pages using Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), Extensible Hypertext Markup Language (XHTML), and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).

ISY302: Web Page Design II

Credits: 3
Prerequisite: ISY301

This course focuses on web page design, content design, and site design using a popular visual web editor.

ISY332: Java Script

Credits: 3
Prerequisite: ISY301

This course introduces the student to the JavaScript language and how it can be used to add new features and interactivity to Web pages.

ISY425: Independent Web Design Project

Credits: 3
Prerequisite: ISY302

This course requires the student to develop a real-world website. Students will work closely with an instructor to select an appropriate project, develop a design plan, and implement a website based upon that plan.
