Criminal Justice Career Outlook

What's the career outlook for a graduate of Criminal Justice?

We understand you want a career instead of another job! You are focused on earning your Criminal Justice degree so you can enter the work world with real credentials. As a graduate of Allied American University (AAU), you will have the background to pursue a number of exciting careers that put you at the forefront of opportunity.

Determine Your Career Path with Criminal Justice Education

Depending on your level of education and experience, here are just some of the careers that Allied American University graduates can pursue:

  • Law Enforcement Officer (Police and Sheriff's Department) - Protect and serve your fellow citizens by policing America's neighborhoods, cities and highways. Enjoy excellent job opportunities in nearly every state in the country. Individuals who have served in the armed forces will find a great place for their military skills. You can work at the city, state or even the federal level.
  • Criminal Investigator - Help businesses, individuals and law firms by assembling information and making connections that solve mysteries or inconclusive facts. The hours are untraditional and many investigators are self-employed.
  • Warden - Manage a staff of corrections officers at a detention facility while ensuring that inmates serve out their criminal sentences in a safe and orderly fashion. You'll tackle many of the issues that any business manager would, except you'll do it in the context of the criminal justice system.
  • Private Security Officer - Help keep people and property safe! Security guards and officers generally work for a private company or organization to secure a piece of property and the people using the facility. Many security officials go on to work with law enforcement agencies.
  • Correctional Officer - Work in jails, prisons or probation facilities to help ensure that inmates are secure and conforming to the institution's policies. Among other things, you'll assign work tasks, keep daily inmate logs and search cells to maintain the safety of the facility for both inmates and corrections staff.

AAU graduates may also pursue a career as a U.S. marshal, border patrol agent, FBI officer or ATF agent to name just a few more possibilities.
