Accreditation, Academic Affiliations, Memberships
Allied American University is nationally accredited by the Accrediting Commission of the Distance Education and Training Council. The Accrediting Commission of the Distance Education and Training Council is listed by the U.S. Department of Education as a nationally-recognized accrediting agency.
The accrediting commission of the Distance Education and Training Council is a recognized member of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
As defined by the DETC, accreditation, "assures students that the institution operates on a sound financial basis, has an approved program of study, qualified instructors, adequate facilities and equipment, approved recruitment and admissions policies, and advertises its courses truthfully."
Allied American University has applied for Eligibility from the Senior College Commission of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. WASC has reviewed the application and determined that Allied American University is eligible to proceed with an application for Candidacy for Accreditation. A determination of Eligibility is not a formal status with the Accrediting Commission, nor does it ensure eventual accreditation; it is a preliminary finding that the institution is potentially accreditable and can proceed within four years of its Eligibility determination to be reviewed for Candidacy status with the Accrediting Commission. Questions about Eligibility may be directed to the institution or to WASC at www.wascsenior.org or at 510-748-9001.
Allied American University is a recognized CHEA member institution. The Council for Higher Education Accreditation is a national advocate and institutional voice for self-regulation of academic quality through accreditation. CHEA is comprised of an association of 3,000 degree-granting colleges and universities and serves as a national voice for voluntary accreditation and quality assurance to the U.S. Congress and U.S. Department of Education.
AACRAO is a nonprofit, voluntary, professional association of more than 10,000 higher education admissions and registration professionals who represent approximately 2,500 institutions and serve to advance higher education by providing leadership in academic and enrollment services.
Allied American University currently has an approval application pending with the BPPE for approval to operate and offer educational programs based on its accreditation. Any questions a student may have regarding this approval that have not been satisfactorily answered by AAU may contact:
